That's A Wrap: Life Well Lived 2019

The 2019 edition of Life Well Lived (LWL) wrapped up on Thursday with a group squash outing at the Toronto Athletic Club, this year’s fitness partner. Good fun for all followed by a surprise pizza lunch funded by yours truly after losing the final match to a wily veteran squash player.

In addition to a robust speaker series that addressed topics ranging from debunking fitness myths, eating tips from the Raptors’ nutritionist and an introduction to mindfulness, LWL participants tested themselves with a variety of fitness sessions at TAC (spinning, yoga, the strength lab and squash) and a really fun paddleboard outing with Simon Whitfield during the Toronto Triathlon Festival (check out the photo below – who knew you could fit this many people on a SUP).

As with the past two years, we built the LWL program around the Toronto Triathlon Festival (www.torontotriathlonfestival.com). Athletes enjoyed perfect conditions on race weekend. This year, Team Raymond James was represented in both the athlete and volunteer contingent, with the latter being very capably lead by our very own Tina Seifert and Gail Sargent. Congratulations to you both!

A big thanks to all those who helped make this year’s program such a success including:

  • Meg Sharpe, Executive Director of Personal Training at Cambridge Group of Clubs
  • Greg Wells, Performance Physiologist and Author – look forward to seeing you at our National Business Conference in October, Greg.
  • Ellen Choi, Assistant Professor at University of Guelph and Mindfulness Expert
  • Jen Sygo, Registered Dietitian and Sports Nutritionist
  • Melissa Cugliari, Naturopath with TAC’s Sport Medicine Clinic;
  • Simon Whitfield, Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist and SUP enthusiast;
  • Aaron Pilon, Founder of Blu Wave SUP;
  • Callum Wright and the Toronto Athletic Club; and
  • Jeff Chong, Founder, Toronto Triathlon Festival and LWL Visionary.
